Ontario Squash Hall of Fame
Project Description
The Ontario Squash Hall of Fame is an existing entity designed to celebrate the history and heritage of our sport and therefore promote and develop the future of the game of squash in our province. Established in 2005, induction ceremonies occur every 2 years with 28 members currently and growing.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Funds raised will go to the ongoing development and curation of our physical home at White Oaks Spa and Resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. In addition, the OSHOF will be undertaking the digitization of photographs and other memorabilia to have a virtual hall of fame that will mirror the physical one.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
Heritage and history is critical to the promotion of any sport, as the awareness and celebration of past achievements not only help to grow the sport directly, but keep generations that play our game connected and engaged. Squash in Ontario has a rich tradition and several world champions are already members of the OSHOF.
