Project Description
Curling Ontario provided the rocks The Blue Mountains Curling Centre ("BMCC") has used since it started operation. BMCC has the option to purchase these rocks for $19,000. We are currently raising these funds.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
To purchase curling rocks from Curling Ontario.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
The Blue Mountains is a retirement community and the BMCC operates out of the Beaver Valley Arena one day a week when the ice is converted to curling ice every Friday. We attract largely beginner curlers who want to try the sport, and senior curlers many of whom stick curl and enjoy our relaxed less competitive atmosphere. Our beginner curlers often graduate to more competitive local clubs while our senior curlers continue to enjoy the exercise and comaraderie our sport provides .
