Capital Projects Fund
Project Description
To secure donations that will be used to either purchase, renovate and maintain the existing facility or, preferably in the long term, to build a new curling facility in London to replace the existing 120 year old building.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
Existing Facility: Replacement of our aging refrigeration equipment (chiller, condenser, piping), potential renovations to the clubhouse and/or replacement of other capital equipment.
New Facility: Replacing our existing facility will be a huge project with enormous costs (land, planning, dev fees, construction, refrigeration equipment etc.).
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
London Curling Club is the home of the TVRAA High School Curling League. We also bring elementary schools in to learn curling. We teach curling and good sportsmanship to youth in the U12, U15 and U18 levels. We provide adult Learn To Curl programs, provide ice rentals and run leagues for our members. Maintaining the facility is critical to everything we do, and in the long run a new facility is going to be needed.
