Gym Renovation and Outfitting
Project Description
Subsequent a successful grant application to the Ontario Trillium fund, that kickstarted the Ottawa Rowing Club's gym winterization, the ORC is now looking to finalize the installation of the bathrooms and changing areas as well as purchasing the flooring and equipment needed to prepare the facility to become operational.
The proceeds from this fundraising will be
used for the following cause(s):
All proceeds from this fund will be used to purchase gym flooring, free weights, exercise machines, and assist with the contracting requirements to assemble these units.
How this project will assist in promoting
or developing amateur sport on a national
level.
This project plays an essential role in our club's ability to serve its local community. In additional to the benefits this renovation will provide our current club members, centralized winter training, a year round club home base, a viable indoor alternative if the water is too rough during regularly scheduled practice times etc., it also expands our horizon to offer community programming beyond our club members. The fully outfitted training area provides the opportunity for our club to continue expanding its community outreach program (Everybody Rows Ottawa) and incorporate more non-traditional user groups into our every day operations.
